Join me , County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin, and WCCO Anchor Don Shelby on Monday, May 4th at 2 PM as we rally for the Minnesota Shubert Center. The rally will include brief performances by the hip hop crew The Battle Cats and ARENA Dances, and perhaps a few surprises!
Why rally? Because the Shubert is so close to breaking ground. More than $36 million has been raised. If we can raise an additional $2 – 2.5 million, the Shubert will start construction this summer, spurring $25 million of spending, creating 101 construction-related jobs, and creating 38 permanent jobs in our city. As our first flagship center for dance, the Minnesota Shubert Center will also allow our diverse and talented dance community to reach new heights.
There will be lots of energy at the rally, but in case you need a little more – free coffee and cookies for your afternoon break. I hope to see you there, and don’t forget your dancing shoes.
